There are many different types of millionaires. Some are simple in their lifestyle and are very low key. Others are a bit more flashy. In 2021, it’s a whole different game when it comes to identifying and cultivating millionaires to support your cause. Just as with anything in life, if you want to understand it better, you need to read, learn and listen. 2. You’re chasing someone else’s donor!
Your CEO heard that Mrs. Jones made a $1 million donation to the children’s charity. He comes into your office and says, “Why don’t we have Mrs. Jones on our list?” Before you can even respond, he says “Put her on the list. Let’s get a $1 million donation too.” This happens WAY too often. And it leads to no gift at all.
3. Your fundraising program needs further development.
It’s nearly impossible to raise money from millionaire philanthropists if your fundraising program isn’t in order. Once the basics are in place, it’s time to amp up your donor work.
