Preliminary Findings Show Nearly 90% of Affluent Americans Gave in 2020

According to preliminary findings from the 2021 Bank of America Study of Philanthropy: Charitable Giving by Affluent Households, nearly 90% of affluent Americans gave to charities in 2020. Conducted in collaboration with the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI, the study surveyed more than 1,600 affluent households (with a net worth of $1 million or more, excluding the value of their primary home and/or an annual household income of $200,000 or more).
